Dana Anderson, a university graduate and financial supporter, has seen the value of his own net worth decline in recent years because of the economy. Anderson is vice chairman for The Macerich Co., a California-based owner of 72 malls in 23 states. He has watched his stock holdings drop from above $100 a share when he made the commitments to below $6 a share since then.
