Four Kansas universities have been recognized by Military Advanced Education magazine for their efforts to support military education.

The magazine's November-December issue lists 129 public and private universities in the United States that are noteworthy for their programs tailored for members of the armed forces. This was the third year for the magazine to post such a listing.

Mentioned in the listing are Baker University in Baldwin City, Fort Hays State University, Kansas State University and the University of Kansas.

The rankings look at the quality of academic programs, access by the military and availability of support and student organizations. Kansas is home to Fort Riley, Fort Leavenworth and McConnell Air Force Base.
