Salina South and Central are both in action in league play tonight, while several 1A schools continue to compete in area regional tournaments. Tonight also is our final edition of the Central Kansas Basketball Roundup, we will visit with Tim Dolloff, Head Coach of the Bennington Bulldogs, as we look ahead to next week's sub-state tournaments. Here is a quick look at some regional scores and one make up game last night in the area:

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Berean Academy 54, Ell-Saline 40

Clifton-Clyde 64, White City 35

Lincoln 55, St. John's Beloit 45

Ness City 70, Wilson 64

Now here is a look at what is going on in the area tonight:

Salina Central @ Maize

Sports Radio 1150 - KSAL

5:45 pregame/ 6:00 tipoff

The Salina Central girls will look to make it two in a row tonight as they travel to Maize to take on the league leading Lady Eagles. Central had trouble with the full court pressure put on by a deep Maize team in the first match up between these two teams, however if Central does handle they pressure their size gives them a distinct advantage in the post. In the boys game, Central appeared to take a step backwards against a wounded Hutchinson team on Tuesday. Things do not get any easier tonight as Maize is leading the AVCTL boys standings and they already own a win against Central. Similar to the girls game, this game will come down to the Mustangs' ability to hand the guard pressure from the Eagles. A Central win would also give them a home game in the first round of the sub-state tournament.

Salina South @ Hutchinson

Y 93.7

5:50 pregame/ 6:00 tipoff

The Salina South Lady Cougars suffered a tough loss to Goddard on Tuesday, creating a potential coin flip for third place in the sub-state standings, as South is now tied with Newton. While the sub-state standings are jumbled, Hutchinson will not be at full strength, as it is unlikely both their six foot sophomore will play, if either. South handled Hutch at full strength and should have no problems tonight. In the boys game South does not match up well on paper, with Hutchinson's physical style of play and size, however South won the first meeting at home earlier this month and will try to repeat the feat tonight.

Here are the regional games going on:

Lincoln Regional
