A Hays man claims a $471,198 Super Kansas Cash jackpot.

According to the Kansas lottery, the winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, had the single ticket that matched all numbers in Monday's drawing.

"I play every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday," said the Hays resident. "I always buy a Quick Pick ticket for $3. I've been lucky in life and always knew I'd win a jackpot someday."

Even though the winner always thought he'd win a jackpot, he wasn't fully prepared when it actually happened.

"I check the winning numbers from the numbers the newspaper lists after each drawing," said the winner. "I always look at the Cashball number first, and then I look at the first five numbers. When I realized I'd matched all the numbers, I sat there awhile and looked at my ticket. I was very surprised."

The winner and his wife, who will celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary this year, plan to share their prize money with their children and grandchildren.

The winning ticket was purchased at Cerv's 2, located at 2722 Hall St. in Hays.
