A retired Green Beret from Kansas is killed in Iraq. Forty-two-year-old Larry Young died last week while on civilian duty.

Young was doing security work for a private firm in Baghdad's Green Zone. Details are sketchy, but family members say he was asleep at the time of the fatal incident.

Young was raised in Ulysses, Kansas. He was a sergeant in the Army when he left the military in 1998. He had been working in Iraq as a civilian for at least four years.

Arrangements for a full military funeral are pending.
