A Wichita man died after an accident at a recreational pond in Butler County Friday night.

Officials say a group of people were fishing and riding horses at the pond north of Towanda when the victim fell into the pond.

The Butler County Sheriff's office says rescue workers pulled 48-year-old Jamie Martinez out of the water, but he was not breathing. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital in El Dorado.
