Ottawa County officials are holding a man believed to be involved in the hit-and-run death of a Colorado man early Sunday morning.

Ottawa County Attorney Betty Mick tells the "Salina Journal" Niles Wise has been charged in district court with felony obstruction. Officials allege Wise concealed the black Mazda that is believed to have hit the victim, 21-year-old Christopher Lyons, who recently moved to Concordia from Grand Junction, Colorado.

Early Sunday morning, Lyons was killed as he walked along K- 18 Highway. Lyons was hit at around 3:00 in the morning as he was walking along the north shoulder of the road, about halfway between Tescott and Beverly.

The Kansas Highway Patrol asked for the public's help in locating the vehicle that hit him. Troopers say that help from the media and several tips from the public lead to the arrest.

Mick says it is not clear whether Wise was the driver of the car. An investigation continues.
