Both A 44-year-old teacher and a 29-year-old teacher at Basehor-Linwood High School were suspended after a 16-year-old girl told administrators about a consensual sexual relationship.

Two teachers at an eastern Kansas high school have now been suspended while police investigate claims that both had inappropriate relationships with a female student.

A 44-year-old teacher at Basehor-Linwood High School was suspended in May after the 16-year-old girl told administrators she and the teacher had a consensual sexual relationship.

A 29-year-old teacher also emerged as a suspect during the investigation and was suspended last week.

Basehor Police Chief Lloyd Martley says the younger teacher is suspected of engaging in inappropriate behavior with the same student when she was 15.

Information from the investigation has been turned over to the Leavenworth County district attorney.
