Willdean Hunt, Bennington, made the journey to his final resting place on the early morning of June 21st, 2012 at his home.
Willdean (Willie) was born November 10th, 1934 in Salina, Kansas to John W. Hunt Jr. and Stella M. (Christ) Hunt, the first born male to his family of 1 brother, 3 sisters, and 1 half-sister from his fathers previous marriage to Marie M. Beichle.
He was united in marriage to Ann J. Polson of Lindsborg on April 26th, 1952, a 59 year union which produced 3 sons and 1 daughter.
Willdean worked many occupations, beginning as a Mill Worker for Shellabargers in Salina, during which time he enlisted in the National Guard in 1952, where he served until 1955, leaving the service in the rank of E-5 Sgt. He later worked for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. as a Route Driver, Fairmont Foods Inc. as a Milkman, as part owner/bartender at Country Cuzzins with his wife Ann, and ADM Milling as a Grain Miller when he retired in 1997. He spent 6 to 7 of his retirement years working at Renzenberger Inc. before returning to his retirement.
He was a member of the VFW Post 1432, and also a member of the American Legion Post 62 (Sons of the American Legion) in Salina, Ks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Ann J. Hunt, 2 sisters; Evelyn M. Hunt-Tolson-Bates-George and Ruth Arlene Hunt, 1 half-sister; Mabel Hunt-Berkley-McFarland, 1 son; Robert D. Hunt, 1 Grandson; John William (Baby Boy) Hunt, and 1 Great-Grandson; Clayden L. Urbanek.
Survivors Include:
2 sons: Richard Hunt and wife Kay of Lake Havasu, AZ Michael Hunt and wife Laura of Ellsworth, Ks
1 daughter: Tamatha Hunt-Betzold-Lewis of Bennington
1 brother: Donald Hunt of Abilene
1 sister: Phyllis Hunt-Brown of Minneapolis
8 grandchildren
Several great grandchildren
The body will be cremated.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
