Edwin C. Vernon, Jr., 85, of McPherson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at McPherson Hospital. Ed was born on October 13, 1926, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, the son of Edwin C. Sr., and Ada Edith (Lookingbill) Vernon.
On March 26, 1950, he was united in marriage to Marjorie M. Weidenbach in McPherson.
He was a sub-station supervisor for the McPherson Board of Public Utilities, retiring in 1987 after 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WW II and a Life Member of American Legion Post #2715 and V.F.W. Post #24.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Countryside Covenant Church with Rev. Jon Black officiating.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Crestwood Memorial Park, McPherson.
Visitation (no viewing) will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
