William N. Manwaring

William N. Manwaring, 81, passed away Monday, August 20th, in Abilene. He was born February 27, 1931 in Bath, New York, the son of Nathan and Leah (Lyke) Manwaring.

Growing up in Bath, he attended local schools and was a Korean Naval Veteran. He was a member of the Chapman American Legion.

On January 12, 1952, he married June Marie Crawford. The early years of their married life was spent in Wellsville, New York before moving to Abilene in 1973.

He was employed by Combustion Engineering in Enterprise until retiring in 1989.

June preceded him in death April 13, 2006. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Nathan Manwaring, in 1977 and David Manwaring, in 1999 and a grandson, Kirk Manwaring in 2010.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 24th, at the Danner Funeral Home. Cremation will follow with inurnment at a later date.

The family will receive friends 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. Thursday evening, August 23rd, at the Danner Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be given to the Hospice of Dickinson County or the Salvation Army. They may be left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.
