Ida (Tillie) Heffern Scheibmeir of Abilene died Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012. Tillie was born July 25, 1921 in Piqua, Kansas to James and Theresa Heffern.

She graduated from Yates Center High School and St. Margarets Hospital School of Nursing.

She was married to Eugene Scheibmeir for 59 years, from December 26, 1942 until his death in 2002. Most of their marriage was spent in Salina and Abilene, Kansas. She was a homemaker, avid gardener and an active member of St. Andrews Catholic Church.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers William, Leonard, Frank, Roger and James; her sisters Margaret and Mildred; and her granddaughter, Andra Hazelwood.

Survivors Include:
Three sons: Alan (Barbara) Scheibmeir, of Sherman, Texas
Steve (Marlene) Scheibmeir of Solomon, Kansas
Mark (Wendy Tripp) Scheibmeir of Centralia, Washington
Seven daughters: Jeanie Combs of Eugene, Oregon
Janie (Jim) Hazelwood of Solomon, Kansas
Mary (Jim) Russell of Westminster, Colorado
Doris (Chuck) Hammeke of Stillwell, Kansas
Monica (Mike Engelken) Scheibmeir of Topeka, Kansas
Joyce (Darrell) Gerhardt of Amity, Oregon
Diane (Kirk) Cusick of Salina, Kansas

Visitation and Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 5th at Martin- Becker- Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene, Kansas.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6th at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Abilene, Kansas,Father Henry Baxa officiating, burial at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery, Abilene, Kansas.

Family request that memorials be made to St. Andrews Elementary School and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
