Jackie E. Dautel, 83, passed away Tuesday, November 27th in Abilene. He was born July 20, 1929 in the Elmo community, the son of John Jay and Elma Mae (Gallion) Dautel.

Growing up in the area, he attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School. After school he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He had been co-owner of Dautel Brothers Trucking before becoming full owner of Dautel Truck Line. In 1972, he sold the business and became a cattle order buyer and co-owner of Dickinson County Livestock.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Dautel, a sister, Shirley Rutz, three brothers, Virgil Dautel, Delmar Dautel, Jerry Dautel and he was a member of the Eagles Lodge 2934.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 30th, at the Emmanuel Methodist Church with Pastor Stan Norman officiating.

Interment will follow in the Abilene Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, November 29th, at the Danner Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions in his name be made to the Eagles or Dickinson County Hospice. They may be left at the church the day of the service or left at or sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home POB 758 Abilene, Kansas 67410.
