Sherry L. Leaf of Wellington, Kansas, passed away December 01, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sherry was born to Buck (Clarence) and Flossie (Florence) Beck on February 28, 1953, in Concordia, Kansas.

She attended and graduated from Mankato High School and after graduation attended Cloud County Community College where she met her husband of 40 years, Mike Leaf.

Mike and Sherry were married in Ada Lutheran Church, near Kackley, Kansas, July 15, 1972. They moved to Hays, Kansas and then Wichita for schooling.

Upon moving to Lincoln, Nebraska, Sherry worked at K-Mart as a head cashier for several years. They both were owners of Beltone Hearing Aid offices in Colorado Spring (as a partnership with Bill and Alice Herholtz) and in Santa Fe (as a joint sole-proprietorship). Sherry eventually moved to Wellington, Kansas, with her family where her greatest pleasure was raising and helping to raise her children and grandchildren. She also worked at Growing Pains in Wellington.

She was preceded in death by: her four grandparents; her mother- Florence; and two brothers, Ed and Jack.

She is survived by:

Daughters: Rebecca Mason of Wellington
Katherine Leaf of Wichita (fiance of Scott Ludwick)
Granddaughter and ward: Michaela of the home
Granddaughters: Trinity and Paris of Wellington
Grandson: Tyler, of Wellington
2 nieces and 4 nephews

Sherry was admired and respected by all who know her and she will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of life service for Sherry L. Leaf will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Melby Mortuary Chapel, Mankato, Kansas, with Pastor Dennis Beckman officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kansas.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at the Melby Mortuary, Mankato, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. or friends may sign the book and leave condolences from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
