Lewis Ansel Byard, Salina, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 in Leawood, Ks. He was born April 27, 1925 in Little River, Ks., the only child of Nora and Caleb Byard.
After graduating from high school, he joined the Navy during WWII. He served mainly in the south Pacific. Lewis was an active member of the University United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Two sons: Curtis and wife Michelle of Atlanta, GA
Bradley and wife Connie of Overland Park, KS
Two granddaughters: Stacy and Lisa
Two grandsons: Brian and Kyle
Two step granddaughters: Christie and Lindsay
Two great-grandchildren: Cale and Maelyn
Visitation and the reception of friends will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina, Ks.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at University United Methodist Church, 1509 S. Santa Fe, Salina, with Rev. Mike Rose officiating.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Bean Cemetery, Little River, Ks.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the church missions fund. |
