Jim Greischar, 82, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 9:06 p.m., Tuesday, December 4th, while in the company of family members, at his home. James was born in Blue Earth, Minnesota on December 7, 1929, the only son and child of Elizabeth Marie (Spitzner) and Raymond Victor Greischar.

Jim attended St. James Catholic School in St. James, Minnesota, a country school near Richmond, Kansas and graduated from Richmond High School in 1947. He was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church McPherson, Kansas. He was Baptized in St. James, Minnesota.

Jim spent the majority of his working career as a Store Manager having managed for F.W. Woolworth for 10 years, TG&Y and McCrory for 35 years, and Alco for 7 years. After his retirement he was a contract driver for Lacy Motors and Midway Motors for 13 years.

Jim was a member of the (noon) Kiwanis Club, 66 year member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus of McPherson and Blackwell, Oklahoma, vice president of the Thanksgiving Community Inc and Volunteer Chairman for 15 years and was a former member of the McPherson Chamber of Commerce through the T.G.&Y. Store.

James Paul Greischar was united in marriage to Barbara Jane Ferguson on April 25, 1953 at Richmond, Kansas at St. Therese Catholic Church.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kelley Raymond Greischar on December 7, 2003.

Friends are invited to call on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and a Rosary to follow at 7:15 p.m.. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.

Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8th, with Reverend Lynn Scott officiating.

Final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
