Funeral services for Ruth E. Riggin, age 89, of Salina, formerly of Lost Springs; will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Burdick United Methodist Church in Burdick with Reverend JJ Beck and Mr. Phil Peterson officiating.

Mrs. Riggin passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at the Pinnacle Park Nursing Home in Salina. She was born February 16, 1923 in Marion, Kansas the daughter of Albert and Alice (Dody) Schroer.

She lived most of her life in Lost Springs and Burdick, Kansas. Ruth graduated from Lost Springs High School and operated the Lost Springs Telephone Office until it closed. She then owned and operated Zinn Mercantile and Cafe until her retirement.

Ruth was a member of the Burdick United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing, gardening, animals, bowling, and was an avid sports fan.

On June 18th 1942 she married Bill Zinn. He passed away in 1957. She then married Johnny Riggin of Burdick, Kansas. He passed away on July 12, 1995.

Bob Riggin of Detroit, Kansas
Jack Riggin of Burdick, Kansas
Pat Baker of Lawrence, Kansas
Sister: Lois Peterson of Burdick, Kansas
13 grandchildren
27 great grandchildren
Many nieces and nephews

Besides her husbands, Ruth is preceded in death by her brothers Laird Schroer and Gerald Schroer, and her parents.

Burial will be in the Lost Springs Cemetery.

Friends may call after 7:00 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Hope.
