Frederick Joseph (Fred) Westfahl, 88, of Lindsborg, KS, passed away at 2:40 a.m., Thursday, January 10th, peacefully, at Bethany Home, Lindsborg, Kansas
Frederick was born in Haven, Kansas on August 2, 1924, the son of the late Ruby M. (Wetzler) and Frederick Benjamin Westfahl.
He attended Haven, Kansas schools.
Frederick was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at Kinsley, KS .
He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He was a self employed farmer at Kinsley, Kansas until his retirement in 1977.
Frederick Joseph was married to Wanda Louise Rambo on May 21, 1948. She died on March 17, 2003. He was united in marriage to Ruth Mae Walting on January 7, 2005 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lindsborg, Kansas.
He is survived by
Wife Ruth M. Westfahl, of Lindsborg, Kansas;
Daughter Kathy Rishel, of Lindsborg, Kansas;
Son Randy, husband of Susan Westfahl, of Olathe, Kansas;
Son Rock, husband of Debra Westfahl, of Victoria, Texas;
6 grandchildren - Mandy Dosco, Melanie Barnett and Molly Johnson, Dustin and Nate Westfahl, Drew Westfahl
6 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz & Ruby, two brothers, Paul and Everett, his first wife, Wanda Louise
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethany Home Chapel with Pastors Bill Buschbom and Dean Appel officiating
Inurnment of cremains will be at a later date in the Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg, Ks.
