Alta Grindel was ushered into her heavenly home on January 17, 2013 after a 10 month battle with brain cancer.
She enjoyed a 31 year nursing career at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Mostly working in labor and delivery, she was known for the dedication and compassion shown to the patients entrusted to her care.
Alta had an unwavering faith in God and her passion for life revolved around her relationship with her Savior and her love for her family.
She was married to Robert Grindel on February 11, 2006 and in 2009 they moved from the Kansas City area to Camden, NC to be near her daughters and the ocean.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alta and William Sprague and her daughter, Cathy Anderson.

The funeral will be Tuesday, January 22nd at Ryans Mortuary in Salina, Kansas.
Visitation begins at noon and the service will be at 2:30.
Internment will immediately follow at the Gypsum City cemetery in Gypsum, Kansas. |
