William E. (Bill) Dearing, 76, of Salina, died Saturday, February 9, 2013. He was born January 23, 1937 in Salina, the son of Ralph W. and Gladys E. (Leonard) Dearing.
Bill worked as a sales manager for Sears for 37 years, retiring in 1993. He also owned and operated Bills Auto Sales for seven years.
During his retirement, Bill was an active member of the community; he volunteered his time to church activities, the Big Brothers program, visiting people in nursing homes, and lending a hand to families less fortunate than he. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved making people laugh and would often introduce himself as Over-the-Hill Bill or Wild Bill.
Bill is survived by:
Two daughters: Shelley and Sherry
Three grandchildren: Andrea, Kyle, and David
Memorial services will be held at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 845 S. Ohio, Salina.
Private burial took place in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
