Marvin J. Plooster, 82, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, surrounded by his family at The Cedars, McPherson. He was born on June 16, 1930, in Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Arnold S. and Cleon Clara (Hayes) Plooster.

He had worked at National Cooperative Refinery Association, was a security guard at Abbott Laboratories, and most recently, was a greeter at Walmart.

On May 14, 1951, Marvin was united in marriage to Gloria June Bengston in Kansas City, Kansas.

Marvin served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged at the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2715 and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Tim Leaf and Rev. Lynn Scott officiating.

Inurnment of the cremains with Military Honors will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, at the Andover Cemetery.
