A pedestrian is hurt in a hit an run accident in Junction City early Sunday morning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 24-year-old William Head of Manhattan was walking along the 1000 block of East 6th Street, about a quarter of a mile east of J Hill Road in Junction City. He was hit by a car that was traveling east.

Head was injured, and was flown to a Topeka hospital.

The car then fled the scene. Troopers later located it, and identified the driver as 28-year-old Marcus Barnes from Birmingham, Alabama.

The accident happened just before 2:30 in the morning Sunday in Junction City.
