Four accidents within about a half hour span early Thursday morning have Salina Police urging drivers to be extra careful, particularly around sunrise and sunset. Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield says that twice a year, in the Fall and in the Spring, conditions make it very difficult for driver's to see early in the morning as the sun is rising and late in the evening when it is setting.

At around 7:15 Thursday morning an 11-year-old child on a bicycle was hit by a car at the corner of Belmont and Magnolia. The child was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center with injures that include a broken leg, injured teeth, and scrapes and abrasions.

About a half hour later a motorcycle was rear-ended by a vehicle at the corner of Schilling and Royal. The motorcycle ended up on the hood of the vehicle. The rider was transported to the hospital with numerous injuries.

There were also two non-inury accidents during the same time period.
