Salina is buzzing about Sara Palin! VIP seating sells out for the 2010 event.
The former Alaska Governor and 2008 GOP Vice Presidential Candidate will be the featured speaker at the annual Salina Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet.
According to Chamber President and CEO Dennis Lauver, ticket sales have been off the charts. "We're sold out on the main floor," he said. "We're asking people to call or stop by and let us know if they want to sit in the gallery for $25 a seat."
Lauver added they will be contacting people over the phone who originally wanted floor seats, to see if they want to sit in the stands during the event. He noted they will work with request for tickets on a first come first served basis.Palin became a household name when she ran on John McCain's ticket in the last presidential election.
She is known as a person who won't simply follow the party line, and stands up for her beliefs. Palin, who recently resigned as the governor of Alaska, has a book coming out. The Chamber each year brings in a national figure to speak, and Palin continues that tradition.
Other speakers have included the likes of former president George Bush, his wife Barbara Bush, former British Prime Minister John Major, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Guilianni.
The annual Banquet with Sarah Palin is Friday, February 5th, 2010.
