Mark Galloway - I Need You
Mark Galloway's been singing longer than he can remember - but he left a lasting impression on KSAL listeners Friday morning as he performed 2-songs during the third hour of the Morning News.
Galloway, who has been part of choir groups, rock bands and worship teams tells KSAL News, his mother saw it all begin. "My mom says I was three or four years old when I stepped onto a display platform at a Sears Catalog store in Colorado," he said. "A Donnie and Marie song was playing over the store's sound system and I joined in with a pencil in my hand as my mic."
That performance led to many others including recording sessions in Nashville, and being part of a worship band that help plant a new church in Sterling, Kansas. "My focus really over the last 10-years has been more on doing Christian music - music that taps into my faith," he said.
Singing while he works
As the owner and operator of Blacksmith Coffee Roastery in Lindsborg, KS, Mark never has to worry about the boss telling him to keep it down. "I love singing and the roaster's pretty loud so I just belt it out in the shop."
Galloway and his wife Nancy are continuing to grow their business, supplying fresh roasted coffee beans to shops in Lindsborg, Marquette, Lyons, Little River, McPherson and Ellsworth. Online sales are growing too at www.BlacksmithCoffee.com. The Galloways have two daughters and a son and make their home in Lindsborg.
Multiple area musicians, groups, and bands are right now being booked to sit in the studio as the Friday morning "KSAL House Band." If you know of anyone interested you can contact Jeff Garretson by calling him at 785-823-1111 or by e-mailing him at jeff.garretson@morris.com.
